I think this is one of those places "that has always done it that way"...a $13 salad with rotten tomatoes and shriveled cucumbers. It was take away so I didn't know the condition of the mis-treated vegetables until it was too late. I love supporting independent business however in this case not something I wish to revisit. The salmon was a bit over cooked as well.

I agree with other yelpers that the prices are a bit high here but I promise it is well worth it. Have had the corned beef special and the Reuben and they both just rock. The corned beef is plentiful and incredibly flavorful. On the Reuben, the sandwich overflows win meat, fried sauerkraut and a great creamy Russian dressing. The rye bread is perfectly grilled. It's worth getting w loaf of rye to go but the sandwiches just never taste the same at home. The fries and onion rings are both crispy and well seasoned. Love the matzo ball soup - great chicken broth. Have tried the cabbage soup and it wasn't great but maybe it's just not my thing. My other favorite is the pickle bar - such a great touch and something to snack on until your food arrives. I hear they have breakfast and other sandwiches and entrees but can't bring myself to try anything but the amazing corned beef.

Yikes!!! This place is a hot mess! I actually stopped using them for a couple of years for our company lunches because they have awful customer service. Well, I thought I'd give them a chance because one thing they had going for them was that you could order online and they have good pickles BUT low and behold, I put my order in online but then you have to call the restaurant to give a credit card (so what's the point of ordering on line if you have to call). Our order comes and a sandwich and tea is missing. The manager was of zero help as she just said "The sandwich wasn't on the order". Yes, it was. She said we'll make a new one and bring it right over....That was 23 minutes ago and still no sandwich. Meanwhile we have a hungry guest who only has a certain amount of time left on his lunch break and nothing to eat! Do you think she even tried to compensate for their error? Nope!!! This was the same response that I got a couple of years ago when we ordered a sandwich platter for 30 people. Michael's put such a little amount of meat on the sandwiches that the people at the front of the line were taking off the meat from 2 or 3 sandwiches to make a decent sandwich and we ran out of food with 10 people not getting any lunch. I called the manager and all she would say is "I was there when the sandwiches were being made and they were fine". Big Whopper of a mistake to give them a second chance. Update: Our missed sandwich just arrived. I called them at 11:38 to let them know that they missed a sandwich and iced tea and they said it would be sent out immediately... 55 frigging minutes later the sandwich has arrived. Unbelievably bad service.

Almost $10 for a small sized Reuben. No pickle, chips, nothing with it. Not a bad reuben, but seriously. If I'm gonna spend $13 on lunch, some chips and a pickle would be nice.

My Goto breakfast place on Sunday mornings. Not the cheapest breakfast, but I like it. Tons of beers if ur into that. Cream chipped beef on everything!

Ate here today for the first and last time. Service was atrocious, and the food was mediocre. I can get a better bagel at a supermarket. Pickle bar? The "pickle bar" consisted of 2 kinds of pickles, salsa (???) and sweet peppers. If you want a real Jewish deli, check out Ben and Irv's in Huntingdon Valley.

This is my go-to deli for lunch in the King of Prussia area. Dependable quality food, friendly service, and a great selection.

i've been here for both lunch and breakfast, and i enjoyed both. but let's discuss the most important this about this place: PICKLES! back in the day, they first thing they would do when you sit down at a table was to thrown down a big bowl of pickles. unlimited bowls of pickles? did you know i was coming or do you do that for everyone? now, they don't do that anymore BUT they do have a pickle bar, with lots of types and sizes of pickles, at which you can pick and choose at your pleasure. me, i go to the pickle bar and come back with a platefull of pickles, and no one bats an eye. that's what i like in a deli. anyway, if you aren't content with pickles as a meal, the rest of the food is good too. they also dell lots of items that you can grab on your way out, including beer. Beer & Pickles - proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy. service has always been pleasant. sometimes slow for breakfast, but that's because they get busy. awesome hangover food.

Gross and overpriced. Probably one of the nastiest delis I've ever eaten at. Do not order the potato skins they are frozen and filled with cheese wiz. Absolutely nasty.

Atmosphere: (B-) Plain, feels like a cafeteria. Food: (A-) I've only had brunch here, and as I've said before, how can you go wrong with breakfast? I've had the eggs benedict, corned beef hash, scrapple - all your typical hot breakfast foods and everything has been good. Service: (A) Quick, friendly, only good experiences here. Store: Good selection of cold beer! Overall: (A) I gotta love and appreciate local establishments :)

I've been going to Michaels for about 8 years now and the quality has remained consistent. They have a large menu and good food. The service is always very fast and the staff is very nice. It seems the waitress change often but there's a few that have been there for years. The prices are a little on the high side for a diner. My two favorite things is they have a large beer selection ( but it's over priced) and they service breakfast all day ( a little over priced too). Overall it's a great place to eat!

Now, before I say anything, in the interest of full disclosure, I need to tell you I used to work here. But I think that gives me a more informed viewpoint. I saw how stuff was prepared, what kind of food was used, not to mention the way the boss treated employees (like crap, by the way..literally telling someone she was "useless"..) Needless to say, I quit, but I feel I should try to be objective here about the food. It's overpriced. At least as of 2010, it was over $8 for a sandwich that did not come with fries. They do have many beers, including the apparently popular Sapporo, but they have many, many beers listed that they never actually have. I know because countless times someone pointed out some obscure beer on the list, and once I'd searched every row of every door of the beer cooler for it, the guy up front would be like "Oh, we haven't had that in years." So don't get your hopes up about beer. Second, all the dinner entrees are frozen. Just so you know. They can call anything fresh they want..but every single dinner entree is taken from a freezer. This isn't to say they taste bad. People love the crabcakes and liver. I'm just letting you know. Their corned beef and pastrami are actually fresh, though, and pretty popular. As is the fresh rye bread, which they get from somewhere, I don't know where, but it's soft and delicious. (Don't try to buy a loaf--it's like $6 a loaf!) The pickles are nice, but what Jewish deli doesn't offer you pickles? I've worked in 4, and they all offered pickles or pickle bars. Plus, you should know that the if all the pickles aren't used in one day, they just put them back and take them out and serve them the next day so..eat at your own risk. Also, I find the brisket too fatty. I know some people like fatty brisket, but when I've ordered it I've ended up having to discard over half of my dinner, so not really worth it. You should also be aware that the cooks don't always wear gloves. In fact, not very often at all. Whenever they slap together a cold sandwich, it's with their bare hands. Their desserts are ice cream that's usually got some freezer burn at the top and some good cakes. However, the cakes are usually kept in the fridge for many days. They aren't necessarily fresh. And they're like $4.95 a slice. I will say that their soups are generally good. I personally prefer matzo ball soup with noodles, but they do not serve it like that, unless they also happen to be serving chicken noodle soup that day. The matzo balls are nice and big, the broth is hearty. No complaints about the soup. Also, they use Rosenberger's chocolate milk, which is so creamy and the very best. They make good omelettes, and the servers are generally pretty good, though of course there are a few (I won't name names!) who never smile and act put-upon to be even speaking to you, or who barely speak English and are most likely illegal. If I were a person who genuinely cared about servers, I would not patronize this establishment. The servers make $2.83 an hour, and are, with the exception of the chosen few who the boss adores and thus treats like queens, treated like dirt. They are consistently verbally abused, talked down to, and forced to watch as other, less skilled but related-to or loved-by waitresses get bigger sections and better tables. In the time I worked there, I never ever was given a party, meaning a group in the back room of more than 10 people. I was there for well over a year. By contrast, a certain Boss's Favorite got a party within a month of being made server (she was promoted from another job for reasons unknown). That's not even the worst. It's being made to feel like you are worthless and can't do anything right, and having your stomach in knots every single day you come in to work, knowing you're going to get tortured. Anyway, I know there aren't so many Jewish delis in this area, so if you're going to go, go, but at least tip well. Anything under 20% is rude. Especially when your waitress is already being worked like a dog and shouted at like one.

I love this place!!! The pickle bar is fabulous and the menu is huge. Great for breakfast with friends. They also have a huge beer selection.

Filthy. Pickle bar? Uh ok. More like a wheel barrel full of leftover dreck. The uptight little old lady running around like a headless chicken and the side area with crap laying all about is odd as well. I agree with previous posters shabby. According to my server all hot dinners are microwaved. Yum

The beer is old. And when I say old. I mean very old. I bought a very popular beer from this place (Lagunitas Sucks), and it tasted like garbage - sooo old. It's clear that they don't have high turnover with their beer. The food is good, a bit pricey, but worth it. They advertise that they have over 500 beers, but I'd rather go to Wegmans - it's piss poor.

I am sorry to say that after eating here for almost twenty years the place seems to have taken a slow descent into mediocrity--and that is being polite. The knishes are almost always stale, and on several occasions the lox was stomach-churning. I guess no one gives a darn. The manager, Carol has issued me refunds when I complain, but I'd much rather have good meal. Incidentally, there is nothing "kosher" about the menu so how can this be "Jewish" On top of this, the place always looks shabby--needs a cleanup

Best Jewish deli around. Free pickle bar, fast service, great food, reasonably priced, well stocked beer store. The grilled reuben is just so delicious and I've never had a bad experience here.

Yay! My new lunch spot! Had a corned beef sandwich and my husband the hot pastrami. Also had some onion rings on the side. What I like is that the sandwiches are of a normal size. Not too much but enough to keep you full for a good couple of hours. Taste of the meata were really good and the onion rings nice and crunchy. Staff is very friendly and prices reasonable. Love it!

This place is in need of a serious renovation. It's dark, old interior is a deterrent, and it's too large for them to manage. Frankly, it looks fairly dirty. The food is mediocre at best - I stick to pancakes or an omelette there because I don't trust much else! Service is decent.

This review is only for their beer selection: Every year my friend has a Craft Beer and Chips party, which is a brilliant idea. Last year I brought Sly Fox Incubus and I was on a mission to find it again. I called numerous Craft Beer Stores and they didn't carry it, so when I googled this place I saw they had an online beer menu stating they had it. I called ahead just in case and they were so helpful! Their online beer menu is accurate and they have a wide variety. I will be coming back and next time I want to try their food menu!

We were working in the area and looking for a quick lunch that wouldn't slow us down for the rest of the day. We ran across this place and stopped in - we were very surprised at how big it was inside; and that they had a "pickle bar" - I had never seen one before. They had a great menu with all sorts of sandwiches and combinations you can only find in a deli. We all tried different sandwiches and were not disappointed, fresh bread, meat and of course the pickles! If ever working in the area again I would not hesitate to stop in and grab a bite!

Hadn't been there in a while. Years ago it was the only place in the area to get a classic corned beef special. Now there is nowhere, as it was bad, .skimpy- both bread and the meat, which was dry and tasteless. You can make a much better one at home, but don't get the ingredients there, or go get an authentic, quality sandwich, like at the 4th St. in Philly!

Second delivery order in a row where drinks and chips were not delivered(discovered after a decent tip was provided). 10 lunches, only one person thought it was good. Better choices are availabel

Where to start? The food. Yes, the food. It's all good. From the Reuben sandwich and matzo ball soup to the marble bagel sandwich stuffed with cream cheese, lox and sable and the free pickle bar. The food definitely fills the comfort food need when it strikes. I never even knew what sable fish was let alone try it before. It is a delectable smoked fish that pairs well with cream cheese and bagels. There's a small grocery area that fronts the restaurant. All the typical items one would expect from a Jewish deli, plus standard convenience items. They even sell halvah up front, which is about the only sweet treat you can eat after a meal at Michael's. The only criticism I have is the overhead lighting in the dining area is way too bright; bright enough in fact that wearing sunglasses would not be out of place. Still go for the food if out this way in KOP; you will not be disappointed.

  • Erin C.

I recently had lunch delivery from Michael's on a very rainy day in KOP. I was excited that they had bagels with lox on the menu as I LOVE a good bagel with lox. Unfortunately this was the worst lox I have ever had. It was so incredibly salty that it was inedible. I actually had to throw it away it was so bad. And at $15 for a delivery of bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers, and a diet Snapple, that loss was quite painful. Really too bad that a Jewish deli had such bad lox when you can easily go grab a decent bagel with it at Manhattan bagel, Brueggers, or even Wegmans.

Food is bad. Meat is old. Soup smells. Order lunch but did not eat anything- just paid and left. But they have very good pickles in the salad bar!

Been to Hymie's out in Bala, where I've eaten in the restaurant. At Michael's I did take-out. Love me some corned beef and Michael's corned beef is pretty damn good. I had a side order of fries and the fries are thick cut steak fries with the skin on and seasoned well. Sandwich was PACKED with corned beef so I was happy with the value, along with taste. Pretty good beer selection as well to boot. Found my new sandwich place, along with a take-out beer shop! This place has a parking lot, so I don't have to scour the streets for parking unlike Hymie's.

I ordered a BLT on wheat. I assumed it would be toast because that's how BLTs are made. It was not. It was iceburg lettuce, some overcooked bacon (only in the center), and tomato on cheap plain wheat bread... for $7.29!! There weren't 53 cents worth of supplies on the sandwich. Quite the markup! And letdown... never again.

I had been a fan of Michael's since I worked in KoP 25 years ago. Their shrimp salad hoagie used to be EXCELLENT. It was flavorful and so stuffed with shrimp that the filling would escape the roll with each bite. My husband brought me a Michael's hoagie for lunch today. It would be a misnomer to call it a shrimp salad hoagie because there are barely any shrimp in the roll, it's 90% lettuce and onion. Despite the onion, it's almost flavorless. It's like they mixed the shrimp with mayo and that was it - no other seasonings. The last time I got this hoagie when we ate at the restaurant, I thought it was skimpy but dismissed it as a one-off problem. Apparently, it's not a one-time problem. It's really sad to see how far their food quality standards have slipped. It's also infuriating to have paid $7.79 for this joke of a sandwich. They really shouldn't piss off loyal customers because there are so many other dining options in King of Prussia.

I called Michael's and asked for a platter with sausage, home fries, and eggs scrambled "lite with cheese." When I opened my platter, the eggs were scrambled hard with NO cheese! When I called, the manager Carol said she did not hear me say cheese. She also mentioned that the driver was unable to come back out because she had a lot of other orders. I have had issues in the past with this establishment when I ordered a catered lunch for the company. I thought I would give them another chance since it had been a while (I figured they would have gotten better), clearly they have not!!

Michael's is the SLOWEST DELIVERY ON EARTH. We just ordered two EGG SANDWICHES for delivery to our office two blocks away from Michael's. Our sandwiches were delivered AN HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES later. Their delivery time has always sucked but we usually order from them anyway because their egg sandwiches are so good... Delicious melty cheese, fried egg, crispy bacon on a kaiser roll... Well when our sandwiches came they were on soggy, white, knock-off-wonderbread. Not what I wanted and 2 hours later... Get your game together, Michael's. This is some Bullsh!t!!

I wanted to try the pickle bar and see if anything has changed for the better? I still see that they are serving Boars Head meats. The pickle bar was full of one kind of pickles and bruschetta. It was tasteless just like my deli meat platter. Year's ago this was a true Jewish deli. This is not the case, for the last 20 year's or so. This is a great Italian or Greek wanna be deli. Eat here without high expectations and you'll be loving it or trying your best to do so.

I love Jewish delis. It's just a thing with me. I am not a member of the tribe, but I've always appreciated the food and the culture. This place has been on my radar to try for a while. Got my chance for lunch yesterday. Apparently I was fortunate to come at a down time after 1 because it wasn't terribly busy. According to the waitress, they were packed a half hour prior. So I was able to get lightning fast service. I, like many others, have my yardsticks that I measure Jewish delis by. I have standard things I like to try. For me, it's about the matzoh ball soup and the knish. The sandwiches are important as well, but those two dishes in particular will make or break a place for me. So here's my verdict... Matzoh ball soup... not every place makes this with carrots, chicken, and celery. This place does. And I appreciate that. For $3.39 it was a decent size bowl. Not the biggest ever, but not a skimp. Win. Potato knish.... now, I'll admit that I'm not a knish expert. I just know what I like in them. I've had knishes that had a touch of seasoning in the filling, maybe a dash of black pepper, that worked very well. This had no seasoning whatsoever. It was a little bland, and was mildly greasy on the outside. And, due to microwaving I am sure, the outside was overly hot (to the point of tongue burning), while farther inside it was more cool. Also, at $4.25, it was just not big enough. Sorry, I have to fail this one. Turkey special... I've had this sandwich at several places in the local region. it's just a combo I like. The turkey was a generous pile, tasted fresh enough, with good flavoring in the cole slaw and dressing, and soft rye bread. At $7.99 it was a good enough size. I've had better turkey specials that actually came with a side order unlike this one, but this was a fine sandwich. Call this a win. I sampled the pickle bar. I'm not a pickle guy. But I give a plus for offering the bar. I almost hate giving it three stars because everyone who served me there was so nice and friendly. Really, kudos on the service. It couldn't have been better. Food quality, though, two of the three items were good enough to satisfy. Judging by other experiences documented here on Yelp, I'd say this place is good enough to give a try. But I have to call my experience as I see it.

Delicious sandwiches and a large menu with lots of options! Breakfast is also great! I like the turkey pastrami the best and as a healthier-ish option. They also deliver which I great if you're ordering in on your lunch hour.

This is standard diner food at prices that I'm not on board with. Additionally, their beer is quite expensive. I would recommend it as a quick stop for breakfast but not ver much else with so many other options surrounding it.

It was good this time, we had the cheesesteak omelet it was cooked perfectly. The Scrapple and sausage were also made correctly... The smoked fish platter was more then we expected and faired well with all of us, they are lacking a bread bar with the piccle bar, just some rolls... We had our home fries Deep Fried another good choice, for those who enjoy them that way. We also had the creamed chipped beef and it also correct. The piccle bar is always a great accent to our meal. All in all if you have not been here try it. If you have and left due to service issues they were better today.

I went to Michael's for a lunch during work hours with a friend on Thurs 12/5. It became ridiculously crowded, as is natural for a lunch time restaurant, however the deli was severely understaffed and despite catering to many young professionals with an hour lunch break, our service did not reflect that courtesy. Additionally, when my friend and I gave our cards to the waitress to pay for the order, we asked to split the bill down the middle. We even left a good tip knowing that she was running around a lot. A day later I found that I had been charged multiple times for my meal that day, causing my bank account to be overdrawn. I called my bank, who told me I needed to receive a refund from the merchant. On Saturday I called Michaels and asked to speak to a manager. The girl on the phone took a message and said she would have a manager get back to me that day. I did not receive a call back. I called on Monday and spoke to a manager. I politely asked to be refunded the second meal and also the first for the inconvenience. The manager told me that my friend got a free meal and that she could only refund me the second charge. I told her I would no longer be eating at her restaurant for the poor service I had received. She took my information and we got off the phone. For a restaurant to charge a customer twice and then refund them the bare minimum after the amount of inconvenience is outrageous. I will not be eating there again and I suggest you don't either. Service was slow, poor, and their management clearly does not care about their customers.

Ate breakfast here numerous times. Always a table available on Sunday mornings, regardless of when you get there. Service is quick and good. Food always comes out quickly, also. The food is good, but nothing extravagent. I like coming here because it's a reliable place to get decent Sunday morning breakfast without having to wait.

Last I was at Michael's, I saw they had a pickle bar, but didn't get to try it. Upon returning, I found it was full of pure awesomeness, in the form of: - tiny breads, and butter packets - pickled beets - decent-sized pickles (not girthy) - cold applesauce Our server (Missy) initially took awhile to get to us, but when she did, she got us forks, a pitcher of water, and brought our dishes to us as they were prepared. She even split the check for us! Like before, I got the pork roll and eggs breakfast - if you get the Hungryman breakfast, they come with some DAMN HUGE sausages.

They have quite an extensive menu that is decent. They have a lot of kosher options and a good selection of smoked fish. I usually go for the Nova lox bagel platter or one of the monster sandwiches (lots of meat). Their omelettes are pretty good, too, but it's kinda hard to mess up an omelette. This is the closest thing to a diner in KoP and I know that I can always find something on the menu, no matter what my tastes may be at a particular moment. Service is very efficient and they do have the option of delivery and takeout. They also have some great lunch specials ~$5. Worth a try if you're in the area.

Jewish deli food and yummy junk food. Service with a smile and a pickle bar too. The Reuben was huge Kasha and Bowties was good. On a main road and lots of parking. Inside, looks like diner with not much ambiance.

Cold bagel, boxed blintzes, soggy waffles. The fact that they try is good, they are the only place with matzoh brie on the menu for miles, and the eggs were fine. The knishes and challah looked good. Just meh.

I am usually in the area a few times a year and I like being able to stop at Michael's for some matzo ball soup and a sandwich. They also have a wonderful deli and sometimes I'll take home a knish and dessert from their case. The service is friendly (not over-the-top chain waiter friendly, but genuinely nice) and quick. Prices are pretty great and the beer selection is decent as well.

Nice sandwiches. Excellent service. Decent pricing. 3.5 stars. While this is not my favorite Jewish deli, they do make a solid corned beef reuben sandwich, along with pastrami on pumpernickel. The reuben had a good amount of kraut and Russian dressing that wasn't drenching the bread accompanying the moist, thin sliced corned beef. Paired out with a nice Swiss cheese and it was delicious. The pastrami was a fairly plain sandwich but had a gratuitous amount of meat for $6 and tasted nice. The cheesesteak was average though the bread left a bit to be desired. On the service side, food came out very quickly (though we were there at 4PM and there wasn't much else going on), our waitress was very pleasant, and had no qualms grabbing me a slushie from the attached grocery store instead of one of the menu drinks. Oh, and if you're feeling it, they've got a lot of beer options for you. Solid Reuben. 200? different bottles of beer available. Good service. Not bad if you're in that area.

I think this place is great! Has awesome breakfast and I love the hot open faced roast beef sandwich with fries. You are literally in and out and satisfied (and full) with your meal! I think it is very good! Service is okay, but cant expect 5 star service from a deli. Only reason I am not given it 4 stars

I've definitely been in better delicatessens in my lifetime. I went here for lunch with a coworker since I had never been. The prices were definitely cheap but so were the portions. At $4.25 one of the specials was a grilled ham and cheese. I ordered it...and regretted it. It seriously was the size of a half of a sandwich. I was totally disappointed not only in the quality but the quantity. The place is confusing to maneuver at best. The layout looks like a maze- and it didn't look as clean and organized as I thought it should.

Michael's is a restaurant, deli, and cold beer rolled into one and located in the back of a strip mall. First time I came here, I was really excited to try their matzoh-ball soup. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my friend who makes awesome matzoh-ball soup for Passover every year, but I thought it was rather disappointing. Their sandwiches are good cause they have good lunchmeat (obviously, it's a deli) and their sides are ok. I didn't try their pickle bar, but I think this needs to happen next time.

Great deli. All of the New York style favorites, and everything is quick and delicious. They have a complimentary pickle bar that is very good. The Ruebens, subs, and sandwiches are all good. The staff is quick and curteous, and is one of our favorite lunch spots.

Awesome deli, quick service even for large groups. We had a group of 12 and we managed to have our breakfast out to us in less than 20 mins. Nice beer selection in convenient store section up front. Challah bread french toast was super tasty. I shall return many more times in the future.

How the mighty have fallen!!!! I have lived in KoP for over 10 years now and USED to eat at Michaels quite a bit. But there has been a very obvious decline in quality of their food and after my last two meals I'm done with them. Meal one; met my brother and sister-in-law for lunch a few weekends back. Got off to a really bad start when they sat us at a table that was loaded with dirty dishes and had crumbs all over. Rather disgusting way to start the meal. It went down hill from there. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries, well the burger was cold, the bun stale and the fries old. My brother order the Pastrami which was a small sandwich that tasted funny (he loves his pastrami and hated this) and my sister-in-law had one extremely dry Turkey sandwich and matzoh-ball soup which she did like. Meal two; Ordered an Italian Hoagie and Wings as takeout. Hoagie was okay, though it was warm (not as in heated but as in the lunch-meats must have been sitting out all day/night and were room temperature) when it was not supposed to be, but what truly ruined the meal the WORST chicken wings I have ever had. They were not cooked properly and smelled and tasted funny. Only ate two of them and threw the rest away. Needless to say I was in the bathroom not long afterward and I'll spare the gory details. On single positive note, I still go there for the beer takeout, they do have a very good selection of beers, especially imported varieties.

My family ate at Michael's yesterday for brunch for my uncle's birthday. We were about 15 people. We called a few weeks in advance to reserve the room they have for larger parties. What a nightmare. The 'waiter' took drink orders 3 at a time (would ask 3 people what they wanted, go get it, come back, take the next 3 orders, fill that, repeat). A 5 minute process took 30 minutes (literally). Our waiter couldn't have been older than 16, seemed like he didn't speak English particularly well and smelled like he hadnt bathed in a few days. Why they would assign what was probably a busboy to a party this large, is beyond me. The food was nothing short of awful. The same waiter delivered plates 3 at a time, so that by the time the last plates were served, other people with us were done eating. Toast/bagels were served 15 minutes after breakfast plates were brought out. My daughter's pancakes were served uncooked-completely doughy in the middle. My wife's omelette was runny to the point of being completely gross. the macaroni and cheese that we got our daughter seemed like low-rent box macncheez. My uncle's sable sandwich tasted spoiled. And on and on and on. When we complained to who I think was the owner, about the plates being delivered so slowly, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude about our party being to big. Not once did anyone check up on us, which is probably because they knew how terrible the food and service was. Avoid at all costs. This has to be one of the worst restaurants in the western suburbs.

Michael's Deli (130 Town Center Road, King of Prussia, PA) 610-265-3265 I haven't visited Michael's Deli for breakfast in quite some time, so after an early morning visit to the Upper Merion Farmers Market (held every Saturday 9-1 at the township building), my frequent dining companion and I decided that breakfast was in order. So off we went, our car packed full of fresh grown, baked, and harvested bounty. My first impression was that it was more like coming downstairs to a big family breakfast at home, than eating in a restaurant. A nice young woman greeted us warmly with a smile on her face (ok, so it's not COMPLETELY like home). She led us to a table in the TV room. Are you serious, a TV room? Yes, there was a big screen TV mounted on the wall with the volume at a perfect level to allow conversation, and still loud enough to catch up on the morning news from Fox. The room was filled with what must have been regulars, carrying on conversations among themselves and with the wait staff. Everyone was on a first name basis, and we became instantly immersed in the jokes, jibes, and the important gossip of the day. Our server greeted us warmly, and brought us fresh hot coffee and a cup of tea. While we perused the menu, she explained that she would be right back to take our order. True to her word we had just made up our minds when she appeared and took our order. My frequent dining companion, a die-hard fan of lox and bagels could not resist, but was confused by the offering of both Lox and Nova Lox. Our server hurried off to ask, and two seconds later the nice young lady who seated us came over and told us that Nova Lox were less salty than regular Lox, and although they were both the same cut of salmon, Nova Lox were the only one worth eating. We appreciated her candor, and y companion ordered a toasted plain bagel with Nova Lox, cream cheese, and the addition of tomato and onion, ($9.19) which was cheerfully obliged. I was hungry that morning, and decided on their famous "Hungry Man Breakfast ($8.99), a colossal combination of 2 eggs (any style) with bacon, sausage, 2 pancakes or 2 french toast, home fries and toast. We talked quietly for a few minutes, commenting on our wonderful finds at the Farmers Market, and it wasn't long before our breakfast appeared. Everything was warm and wonderful, and when asked if we needed anything, I suggested I might need a couple of other people to help me finish my order. True to its title, the "Hungry Man Breakfast" was indeed created for someone who hasn't eaten in quite some time. I dug in, the pancakes light and flaky, the sausage links plump and juicy without being greasy, the bacon and eggs cooked to perfection, and the home fries moist and delicious. My frequent dining companion's bagel was perfectly proportioned, and she commented that she could taste a balance of every flavor. I've heard it said that you couldn't screw up breakfast, but let me assure you that some of the places in the area succeed with alarming frequency. Fortunately that was not the case at Michael's, as everything was perfect. Although we didn't eat for the rest of the day (we were stuffed!), we left with smiles on our faces and warm memories of a completely impressive experience. You can view the menu's and other information at michaelsdeli.com , but better yet, visit for yourself. We will most assuredly hurry back. NOTE: All restaurant reviews are based on unsolicited and unannounced visits, and everything has been ordered and paid for just as any other customer would do. We will rate the food on creativity and taste, and we will rate the service on timeliness and professionalism. There are no bells, forks, or mmm's in these reviews. There will simply be "We would hurry back", or "We would not hurry back".

Oi Vey! This restaurant is a mess! Where do I begin...One thing I do know is... we left this restaurant annoyed with ourselves for choosing it!!! The atmosphere is horrible and bathrooms were dirty.... this should have been a red flag and left just from that! BUT...we were hungry and gave it a shot. Huge menu choices and pickle bar ... gave us false hopes. Service was not great either...waitress never came over to refill my coffee. I opted for the feta cheese omlet and Hubby ordered a hot brisket sandwich. My eggs were terribly dried out and the feta cheese was ...where? Or should I say "where's the feta???" My favorite omlet and the worst ever here. (Hardly any feta). My husband's sandwich was bland, too much gravey and horrible. $20 for this (with tip) lunch was NOT worth it. Sadly, I wanted to take home some deli but the deli counter was unappealing as well...wrapped up deli and salads...not fresh looking at all. So I passed on the deli. The one thing there was plenty of was the beer! HUH? At a jewish deli so much beer? The beer was way over priced too. I do not recommend this restaurant. Save yourselves and choose another place.

Great place to go for breakfast or brunch. Have never eaten actual lunch or dinner here, but the breakfasts have always been super! Especially the french toast, you have to try the french toast! Service always fast and friendly too. Great family place!

Love this place! Great quality food, drink selection and the best pickles around. Try the pastrami sandwich: you can get it thin-sliced or hand-carved like Katz's and the other famous deli's do it, only much cheaper :)

Everything was fine except some wilted lettuce. Service was ok. I think the owner of michael's should go over to pumpernik's & see what the difference is between fine & excellent.

What a cool and strange little place. My breakfast consisted of 2 eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. Total cost: $4.00! Unbelievable! Very good and efficient service. The beer selection is incredible - we spent a few minutes just browsing the huge selection. I can't remember the last time I had such an inexpensive and delicious breakfast!

I'm lucky enough to have moved right around the corner from this spot. During early homeowner days, when my wife and I were not yet moved in but spending every free night and weekend in the new house painting and such, Michael's Deli was our go to place. And it still is our go to "lazy night", order out place. Their hot sandwiches are incredible. Get the loaded cheesesteak or the grilled reuben, pastrami or corned beef - can't go wrong. I've eaten in once, and the added advantage, next to the complimentary pickle bar of course (nothing amazing, but hey..who turns down free pickles while waiting for your food), is the place turns into a BYOB if you buy some beer from the front. Just bring it around to the restaurant area and crack it open. Perfect. Speaking of which... Their beer selection is great. Craft beer galore, and great seasonal selections. The sell buy the bottle, though clearly you're going to make your own six. Tip...six beers is cheaper than four. Don't ask me how or why, but I know from experience. Plenty of nice pints to choose from too. If you live in the area, you should know about this place already. If not, get acquainted. Now. If you're nearby, stop in for some casual, authentic Jewish deli/restaurant eatin'. You won't regret it.

I've never sat down to eat in this place. I've bought beer here once or twice (the beer selection is pretty great, even if the singles can be a bit pricy). But I'm not rating the place based on that criteria. I'm here to talk about the corned beef reuben. I'm a bit of an aficionado when it comes to a few things, and reubens are one of those things. I order them in almost every deli that I go to, and it's sort of a measuring stick that I grade them on. And Michael's has, in my opinion, the best reuben in the Philly area. The corned beef is sliced just right, the homemade dressing is delicious, and the bread is toasted perfectly every time. It's a bit messy to eat, but that mixture of sauerkraut juice & dressing running down your arm? That's PURE LOVE, my friend. My only suggestion is this: if you're not planning on sitting in the dining area, call ahead and order your reuben to go. That sandwich takes time.

The reviews before me got this right, dependable quality food and service. Kind of like a friendlys inside, but with better food. The pickle bar offers a ton of different pickles, some of which are VERY good. The sandwiches are on point- and always please. They also have a nice selection of craft beers. I typically go with the reuben and have always been very pleased.

Michael's is one of the few good places in the area to get breakfast. They also have quite a few Jewish specialties, including my favorite, matzoh-ball soup. The wait staff can be slow on occasion, but they are perpetually understaffed it seems. They have a delivery service which I have never used, but I assume it's good. There is a small convenience store attached which sells hundreds of kinds of beer for ridiculous prices, but I've used them on multiple occasions in a pinch. All in all, Michael's isn't the nicest, or highest quality restaurant in the area, but you could certainly do much worse. At least they aren't a chain!

Nice place to eat with a diverse menu. I will admit the service and food quality are inconsistent with some visits better than others. There is a take out section and a eat in section. I like it here - especially the complimentary pickle bar. They also have a huge beer selection available for take out.

Ordered grilled cheese & soup and open faced briscuit. Cook must have made them all at the same time, which is not right. The grilled cheese came out cold and old. The mashed potatoes were pretty nasty as well. Service was great though! Probably won't eat there again, but they're great for take-out beer!

I have been to many great deli's in the Philly area-Hymie's, City Line, and others. Michael's is flat out terrible in comparison. The menu is great and the service is usullay very good. The food is mediocre at best. The only decent thing I remember having at Michael's is the turkey hoagie, which was decent. Otherwise, get something you can pour lots of ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper on.

What a cute little deli stuck in a weird little plaza. Hidden from most of the unknowing world, this is a good place to stop if you have eclectic beer tastes. Including all the run of the mill domestics, they've also got my fav from Canada: Ephemere. They also have a fine variety of other imports from Belgium, Japan, France, etc. It's as pricey as you make it and they have the great pick-a-six option. The staff was great. Oh yeah. And they have a full deli.

If I was reviewing based solely on delivery (which I order more than I probably should), Michael's would get a solid three and a half stars. Their menu is varied, if not necessarily impressive, but who needs impressive from a Jewish deli that is always ready with a SOLID corned beef special. For the most part, their food is average, with definite hits (said corned beef special, almost any of the "famous" hoagies) and a few misses (99% of the people answering the phone, the sometimes cold by the time they're at the table scrambled eggs). The extra half star comes from their beer selection (Sapporo with my takeout???) which almost makes you forget about the grease rushing to clog an artery or two.
